Distribution:
Local waters; Chukchi Sea, Bering Strait, Sea of Japan, Sea of Okhotsk, North Sea, the Atlantic coast of North America.
Habitat:
Neritic.
Size:
Female 1.4-2.8mm; male 1.3-2.5 mm
Diet:
Carnivorous as adults; copepod larvae and other, smaller copepods.
Predators:
Fish and others.
Useful Facts or Characters:
Caudal rami asymmetrical, body elongate, urosome long and asymmetrical. In females, posterior corners of 5th segment end in a curved, pointed process; in males, the corners are rounded.
Natural History:
Distinctive asymmetrical cadual rami (tip of the tail region).
