Worldwide, in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific oceans, and the Azov, Baltic, Black, Caspian, and Mediterranean seas.
Habitat:
Coastal, neritic.
Size:
Female 1.3-1.5 mm; male 1.0-1.1 mm
Diet:
Phytoplankton, ciliates, rotifers, and their own eggs and nauplii.
Predators:
Gelatious zooplankton and others.
Natural History:
Appears to be most abundant in summer in this area.
