Distribution:
Tropical-subtropical, circumglobal.
Habitat:
Epipelagic.
Size:
Female 1.2-1.6 mm; male 1.0-1.2 mm total length.
Predators:
Fish and others.
Useful Facts or Characters:
Head is round in both sexes in lateral view.
Natural History:
Occurs off San Diego year round and can be more abundant in the spring. Swarms have been reported off Scripps pier.
