Distribution: 
Subtropical waters in southern California and Baja California.
Habitat: 
Nearshore coastal waters.
Size: 
15 - 30 mm bell diameter, as adults.
Diet: 
Small zooplankton.
Predators: 
Larger gelatinous organisms such as Aequorea spp.
Useful Facts or Characters: 

4 radial canals form a cross that can be seen when the jellyfish is viewed from above; bears many fine tentacles.

Natural History: 

Not extremely common in San Diego; most often seen in the late fall.
