Distribution: 
Baja California to northern California.
Habitat: 
Surface to deep water.
Size: 
Up to 100 mm bell diameter, as adults.
Useful Facts or Characters: 

Has a deep bell-shaped umbrella bearing about 256 tentacles in 7 cycles.

Natural History: 

This species closely resembles Polyorchis penicillatus, although it can reach a larger size.  Commonly called the giant bell jelly.
