Distribution: 
Found in the Pacific ocean between about 40ºN and 40ºS.
Habitat: 
Pelagic.
Size: 
6 - 8 mm
Diet: 
Omnivorous.
Predators: 
California halibut, California corbina, queenfish and many other fish.
Useful Facts or Characters: 

Telson is short and rounded (with fine spines evenly spaced, except for two longer spines at the apex).  In the male, all five pleopods are the same length.

Natural History: 

Off San Diego it occurs from shoreward of the breaker zone out to about 18 meters depth. At times it is the most abundant mysid in this area, usually swimming in dense schools. It migrates to the surface at night.
