Endemic to the North Pacific Ocean and Gulf of California.
Habitat:
Adults are usually found in the upper 200 m within the thermocline.

15 - 25 mm
Diet:
Microplankton.
Predators:
Important prey for fish, birds and whales.
Useful Facts or Characters:
Eyes are bilobed, with the upper lobe nearly the same width as the lower lobe. Elongate second thoracic leg.
Natural History:
Large beach strandings have been reported off Baja California, Mexico.
